From Friends with Cameras

Meeting Robyn & Chris for the first time at Bear Creek was fun! After a small chit-chat, and loosening them up to the camera, you can tell that their true personalities started to shine through. All it took was some beer and cornhole to make the day a memorable & fun time.

How they Met

We meet through mutual friends. Our first date, was a blind date, at Bear Creek for a Garlic and Cheese Festival (there might have been more wine involved than garlic) ;) After spending the afternoon together and playing 20 questions, we exchanged numbers. About two weeks later, we met up again at our friend's Labor Day party. We talked all night, had a great time, and enjoyed each other's company! We continued to talk every day and tried to make plans to see each other when we could. At that time, we lived an hour away from each other.

It was about a month after we met, that we made it official!

The Proposal

We went on a group trip with our friends to Las Vegas in March of 2021. Chris and I were pretty pumped, as this was our first time going to Vegas.  First on our itinerary was riding ATVs in the desert! It definitely wasn't the weather we were expecting, a bit colder than usual and we were hit with some snowflakes right before we hit the mountains. Other than the weather, we had a great time riding!  After about 45 minutes of riding, the tour guides stopped at this beautiful spot on top of the mountains, for food and drink break. We were on the border of Nevada and California. The view was breathtaking! To get a better view of the mountains, there were some big boulders we could climb. One of the couples was already climbing up there and Chris was on his way up too, so I decided to follow. Chris was standing at the perfect spot to get a picture. So I hand my phone to our friend and ask her to take a picture of us. Little did I know, I was the only one clueless about what was about to happen.

I walk over to Chris and get ready for a picture. As I started to put my arm around him, he backed off a little and gave me a little nudge to back up. As I back up, Chris gets down on one knee and all I could think was "OMG, I can't believe this is happening right now!" What made it even more special, was our friends capturing the moment. It was a great start to our trip and having our closest friends witness the whole thing! The rest of the trip was amazing, knowing we were going back home as an engaged couple! I had a feeling he was going to propose while we were in Vegas, but I didn't think it was going to happen when it did. I was definitely surprised!

Best Part of Being Engaged

My favorite part is calling him my fiancé! LOL. In all seriousness, I think we are realizing how great we work together as a team. We are having the wedding at our house, so there have been many projects taking place to make sure our vision comes to play!

Advice from the Couple

You may have some other people trying to convince you to go with "this" or "that" - don't second guess your decisions. This is your day! Whether you have been "planning" your wedding day since you were a little girl or just recently, when you have a vision, go for it!
