From the Photographers

We had such a wonderful time photographing Emmerson & Tyler’s engagement session in Jim Thorpe! From the iconic train station to the cozy footbridge and charming downtown streets, these two couldn’t stop laughing and enjoying every moment together. Their connection is so genuine—it’s easy to see how their love has grown since those high school days. Hearing about their spontaneous New Year’s Eve proposal made the session even more special, and it’s clear they’re savoring this beautiful chapter before “I do.”

How they Met + The Proposal

We actually went to high school together. We had different friends groups at the time but living in a small town everyone knows everyone! After we graduated we reconnected through social media and the rest is history!!!

It was on New Years Eve. We were having dinner and drinks with Tyler’s sister and her husband. 2023 was about to become 2024 and we stood up to do the countdown and Tyler brought me up front in front of everyone and I was super confused I honestly did not expect it at that time. When the clock struck midnight he got down on one knee! I was honestly shell shocked! I knew from past conversations he had wanted to propose but wasn’t sure when he wanted to do it or how he was going to do it. Tyler said it was a spur of the moment decision that seemed perfect and he said he couldn’t wait any longer. It was the most shocking surprise and the best possible one. I don’t think I have ever said the word “Ues” faster in my entire life!

Best part of their Engagement + Some Advice

We think our favorite part of being engaged is having this time feel like a “honeymoon phase”. We have been together for going on 7 years now and throughout that time we have seen each other grow and change. Highs and lows and everything in between. During this time we have reconnected on another level with the new versions of ourself that we weren’t when we were 18/19!

My best advise is to enjoy every. single. moment. We have been engaged going on 2 years now, and the wedding is just under a year away. That time went by in the blink of an eye. I always said it was so far away and now that feels like just yesterday!
