From The photographers
Kathleen and Vicki’s engagement session at The Barn at Shallow Creek was pure joy from start to finish. The rustic beauty of the barn created the perfect backdrop for their laughter and love to shine. From sweet, candid moments to heartfelt embraces, these two radiated happiness the entire time. We felt so lucky that they trusted us to document this chapter of their story — every frame was filled with genuine emotion and connection.
How they met
"When we met, we became fast friends and we loved our friendship! Our relationship took courage and definitely required risk. There were ups and downs and uncertainty as we moved forward. We decided to have faith in each other but to also honor God because we had no doubt that He led us to each other. It was that night on December 6th several years ago that we decided to commit to our relationship and we are so glad we did. When it came time to set our wedding date, we knew no matter what the year, the day had to be December 6th. We Thank God for the Gift of Us - He Knows!"
The Proposal
"Vicki proposed to me on my birthday and I did not expect it at all. We had been together for many years and our life was beautiful. When she got down on her knee; I thought she dropped something and she will certainly need a hand up. Well, I soon realized, I was the one who needed a hand when she opened a box with the most beautiful sapphire and diamond ring I have ever seen. She took my breath away that day and every day after."
Favorite Part of being Engaged
"We have truly enjoyed planning our wedding together; getting to know our wedding vendors, picking out all the special things that will tell our story on our wedding day. We absolutely loved our cake tasting and menu tasting with our family & close friends. We had so much fun doing our engagement session. Oh my goodness, Wow! These are memories we will always treasurel We absolutely love counting down the days every single day. Wherever we travel, we take our beautiful block calendar with us. We look at our rings, look at each other and say how many days we have left. This has become our thing."
Some Advice from the couple
"Always remember your wedding is about the two of you; try to make sure your wedding reflects who you are and plan it around what you love. Also, take the time to choose the right wedding vendors and tell them what you really want and if you are not sure yet, tell them that also. Then, listen to see if that scares them away or they say that is okay, we'll be here with you through the process. Also, remember to celebrate each guest in some special way, express to them how thankful you are for their presence at your wedding. Most importanly, love and celebrate each other!"
