They have a very funny & unqiue story about some beer that we think you should read up on! ---SHE LOVVVVESSSS BEER.

How they Met & The Proposal

Andrew started working at the Star-Ledger in 2004, and I joined the company two years later in 2006. At the time, we worked on different floors, but every so often, this young guy would come by my floor, and he immediately caught my eye. I never had the chance to speak to him then.

Fast forward a couple of years: the company relocated from Newark to Secaucus, and that’s when our paths finally crossed. We’d occasionally chat with colleagues by the coffee machine or during lunch breaks, but nothing major.

One day, I was running late for work and decided to stop for bagels. On a whim, I bought a dozen and nervously sent Andrew an email offering him one. He almost didn’t take me up on it, but thankfully, he did. He chose a salt bagel, buttered it up, and that simple gesture sparked a conversation.

From there, Andrew shared a KBS at the office, and that night, I couldn’t resist emailing him to say how much I enjoyed the beer—just so I’d have an excuse to talk to him. It worked, because here we are today. The rest, as they say, is history.

Andrew proposed in the most intimate way—right here in our apartment, with our dog Zoe as our witness. A few months before, we had gone ring shopping together, so I knew a proposal was on the horizon, but I had no idea exactly when it would happen. That anticipation made the moment so special; while I expected it, it still felt like such a wonderful surprise when it happened. It was the perfect, cozy, and heartfelt moment for us.

Best part of being engaged + some Advice

My favorite part about being engaged is the sense of growth and maturity it’s brought to our relationship. It’s hard to explain, but there’s something about this new chapter that feels more intentional and grown-up. It’s not just about planning a wedding; it’s about the excitement of building a future together and embracing this deeper commitment.

My biggest piece of advice is to stay focused on what the two of you want for your special day. It’s your wedding, and your happiness should be the priority. Remember, it’s impossible to please everyone, and there will always be opinions or unsolicited advice. Trust your instincts, stay true to your vision, and don’t let the pressure of outside expectations overshadow what truly matters to you as a couple.
