From the Photographers

There’s something truly magical about an early fall engagement session, especially when the golden evening light, changing leaves, and a couple completely in love come together so effortlessly! Megan and Matthew’s engagement session at Sweet Arrow Lake County Park in Pennsylvania was filled with genuine laughter, sweet moments, and the kind of natural connection we absolutely love capturing. From quiet forehead kisses along the water’s edge to romantic moments beneath the leafy archway, every part of their session felt authentic to who they are as a couple. As the lake began reflecting the warm colors of autumn, we wandered the trails, capturing everything from intimate embraces to spontaneous laughter that simply couldn’t be posed. Megan and Matthew have such an easy, joyful chemistry, and it was an absolute pleasure documenting this exciting chapter of their love story. We cannot wait to celebrate alongside them on their wedding day!

How they Met

Matthew and I went to the same high school, participated in similar extracurricular activities, and shared many mutual friends, yet somehow, we never actually talked until after graduation. It wasn’t until a mutual friend decided to play matchmaker and “set us up” that we finally started talking. From there, everything fell into place, and our relationship took off. Looking back, it’s funny to think that we spent so much time in the same circles without realizing that we would one day become each other’s forever.

The Proposal

Matthew proposed during our vacation to Utah, where we spent five days exploring the breathtaking beauty of Zion National Park. Ironically, getting to this trip was an adventure in itself, with days-off work issues, Airbnb reservation changes, rental car troubles, and the chaos of flying into Las Vegas.

Despite all the bumps in the road, we made it to Zion and spent our days hiking incredible trails and taking in the most beautiful views. One trail, Canyon Overlook, became especially unforgettable when Matthew proposed at sunrise with the most incredible backdrop. Throughout the trip, Matthew had taken on the role of “man of the camera,” so I thought nothing of it when he propped up the camera to take pictures of us with the sunrise behind us.

Little did I know, he had secretly found the video function and captured the entire proposal! What started as a trip full of unexpected challenges turned into one of the most incredible memories of our lives, and we now have a video we will cherish forever. The place we explored together became the place where our next chapter began, and I couldn’t imagine a more perfect way to start our forever.

Best part of Being Engaged + Some Advice

The best part about being engaged is getting to plan a day where all of our closest friends and family can come together to celebrate the lifelong commitment of love and happiness between Matthew and me. Wedding planning can be hectic at times, but having each other by our side has brought so much peace to the chaos and made the process of bringing our vision to life that much more special. There is truly nothing better than having a partner who is loving, supportive, and constantly encouraging you to grow into the best version of yourself. As we prepare for marriage, we are also building a strong foundation together—one rooted in trust, communication, patience, and the understanding that we will always have each other to lean on through both the best and hardest seasons of life.

Marriage is about so much more than celebrating the happy moments; it is about choosing each other every day, offering support when life gets difficult, and continuing to grow together through every challenge and change. Getting to build a life with someone who makes you feel loved, supported, and encouraged every step of the way is such a gift. And getting to celebrate that love with the people who mean the most to us makes it even more special. We are not just planning a wedding day, but celebrating the beginning of our forever, surrounded by the people who have been part of our story and will continue to support us along the way.

Our biggest piece of advice to other couples planning their wedding is to remember that, at the end of the day, the wedding is about the two of you and the life you are building together. It is easy to get caught up in the details, the decisions, and trying to make everything perfect, but don’t lose sight of what truly matters. Communicate openly, be patient with each other, compromise when needed, and remember that you are on the same team. Use this season not only to plan your wedding day but also to build a strong foundation for your marriage, learning how to lean on each other for love, support, and encouragement. Enjoy the little moments along the way, and don’t let the stress of planning overshadow the excitement of what you are preparing for. The wedding is one beautiful day, but the marriage is a lifetime of choosing each other.
