From the Photographers

There's a certain kind of magic that happens when raw industrial history meets a love story just getting started. Mackenzie and Mason chose Bethlehem's iconic SteelStacks as the backdrop for their engagement session, and it was the perfect match for two people who aren't afraid to be bold. We wandered the grounds together — past towering blast furnaces, rusted steel, and century-old architecture — while these two just were. No pretense, no stiff posing — just genuine connection, contagious laughter, and a whole lot of joy on a beautiful sunny Pennsylvania afternoon. From dramatic silhouettes against a stormy-edged sky to Mackenzie's full, uncontainable smile as Mason leaned in close, every frame told the story of a couple deeply, effortlessly in love. We are so honored to have captured the beginning of their forever, and we absolutely cannot wait for their wedding day.

How We Met

We both attended the nursing program at Robert Morris University, and luckily we ended up having a few classes together one of them being pathophysiology. I noticed Mason right away because he always wore RMU football shirts and carried the matching athlete backpack, so I spent almost the entire course trying to figure out who he was.

Eventually, we were introduced through class and became friends first. Before long, we started studying together, which eventually turned into getting dinner together one night. From there, one thing led to another, and we officially started dating.

The Proposal

We were on a family vacation in Myrtle Beach with my family when the proposal happened. I (Mackenzie) had a feeling we would get engaged at some point, but I truly had no idea when Mason did such a good job keeping it a secret.

One evening, we decided to go for a walk on the beach. We ended up walking pretty far down the shore, and since we didn’t have anyone to take a picture for us, I suggested we set up our phones and take a cute video with the beach in the background. I propped up the phones and started recording while we posed together.

Right before it happened, Mason distracted me by pointing out a plane flying overhead. When I looked back, he was down on one knee asking me to marry him. I immediately started crying before I could even say yes because I was so shocked and overwhelmed with happiness.

I could tell Mason was nervous because his hands were shaking while he asked me, which made the moment even more special. It was such a complete surprise, and I’m so thankful it happened exactly the way it did.

Best Part of Being Engaged + Some Advice

Our favorite part about being engaged has been getting to experience this season of life together and celebrating all of the little milestones along the way. From planning our future and talking about our goals to touring venues and making wedding decisions together, it has made us even more excited for marriage.

It’s also been really special sharing the excitement with our family and friends. Seeing how supportive and happy everyone has been for us has made this time even more meaningful. Being engaged has given us the opportunity to slow down and truly appreciate the life we are building together. It’s such a unique and exciting chapter that we’ve really tried to enjoy and not rush through.

Our biggest piece of advice is to remember that your wedding day is about the two of you and the life you’re building together not about making everything absolutely perfect. It’s so easy to get caught up in timelines, decorations, opinions, and little details, but at the end of the day, the moments you’ll remember most are the ones spent together.
