From the Photographer

We had so much fun meeting Lynn, Joey & their main pup Oakley! There was so much to see on their property! Their wedding next year will be an eventful one & we can't wait to celebrate with you both! 🥂

How they Met

When we first met, I was a freshman in high school, and Joey was a junior. He actually "accidentally" poked me on Facebook, which was back when that was still a thing. He then messaged me apologizing for doing so, claiming it was an accident. Joey then worked up the courage to ask for my number. We continued talking, and eventually, he asked me on a date. Though I was very nervous at first, being that I was shy and younger than him, I had a very good feeling about him. I eventually gave in and went on a date. Our first date was at Heisler's Dairy Bar. We hit it off, and here we are, ten years and many dates later, better than ever.

The Proposal

Joey proposed to me during our yearly family vacation in Ocean City, Maryland, on July 25th, 2021. I was told that we were going to be taking pictures by the ocean, which is not out of the ordinary. After a picture with my brother, he turned me around to find that Joey had snuck behind me and was down on one knee. He said some touching words and asked me to marry him, and of course, I said yes. Joey admits that he was very nervous at that moment, even after all these years together. I was over the moon, full of happiness and excitement. I did not see the proposal coming, and for that reason, it was very special.

Best Part of Being Engaged + Some Advice

Our favorite part about being engaged is the anticipation for all to come. There is so much excitement surrounding our engagement, from wedding planning to the wedding itself and our entire future. We have so much to look forward to.

Our advice to other couples is to work things out together while planning their wedding. You have each other to lean on throughout the entire process. Be open to other's ideas, but at the same time, do what suits the two of you best. If you need help along the way, don't be afraid to ask friends or family. Have motivation while planning for the wedding early to reduce stress, allowing you both to enjoy the process completely.
