From Friends with Cameras

When we arrived at the hills of Catawissa, PA, we were greeted by Shane & Kristin. The scenery was beautiful, and the hill was steep enough to overlook Knobles Grove park. We loved the hills and spent most of the time laughing & showing them how to "drunk walk" a few times. We cannot wait to celebrate with them next year at their wedding. 😍

How they Met

Shane and I (Kristin) met on the school bus, in August of 2013, when he was starting his freshman year of high school, and I was starting eighth grade. He had just moved from North Schuylkill and stole my seat on the back of the bus. I ended up sitting in front of him, and eventually we began to talk every day. By October, we went on our first date, and by the end of that month, he had asked me to be his girlfriend. We have been together ever since.

The Proposal

We got engaged at midnight of the 2022 New Year! New Years is a holiday that we have celebrated together for as long as we have known one another. Moments before midnight, my parents, sister, brother-in-law, my one-year-old nephew, Shane, and myself all sat in the living room of my parent's house watching the ball drop. We were all cheering when it was finally midnight since it was my nephew's first time seeing the ball drop. I watched him, and as I was, I noticed my sister was recording me. It sort of hit me then, and I turned around to find Shane on one knee. I immediately started crying, and it took me about a minute to finally say yes and take the ring, as I was in total shock. I was extremely happy and stayed up until 3 AM calling friends/family and just staring at the rock on my finger!!

Best Part of the Engagement

Our favorite part about being engaged, so far has been sharing the news with all of our friends and family. It was so special to spend the actual moment with my immediate family, and thankfully the moment was recorded, so we were able to relive it when we shared the video with others. Shane and I have had an extremely busy past six months, and therefore, we haven't had tons of time to actually plan the wedding. However, now as things are starting to slow down, we are really looking forward to being able to do that together!!

Some Advice

Take your time to plan the wedding that you and your fiancé want. There is no need to rush things, and everyone is going to have an opinion on what kind of wedding you should have. Book the venue that you want, eat the food that you want, invite the people that you want, dance to the music that you want, etc. Just do what makes the two of you happy because in the end, that is all that matters. :)
