A quick word from the photographers
Chris & Suzie are a married couple that has been together for 10+ years but never had any sort of professional photographs taken together as a couple. We have known Chris & Suzie for a few years now. How? Well, before Preston went full-time with his photography venture, Chris was actually his old boss! Yup! Pretty cool right? After he left, (on good terms of course), Chris & Suzie quickly reached out to schedule a fun trip to their favorite place, Gettysburg, PA. Yes, it has incredible American history, but they really like how peaceful it can be with all their favorite local food establishments.
Our Time Together
We met at their home, talked a bit, and after a quick 2-hour drive, we arrived in downtown Gettysburg and the heart of the climax to the American civil war. During our time, Chris & Suzie showed us their favorite local food establishments, along with a brew or two. The next day, we enjoyed some breakfast & started out capturing moments across the battlefield. We had so much fun spending the weekend with them, and we hope you enjoy some of the moments we captured. Per tradition, in the couple's own words, they shared their story.
Their Story
In 2009 our roads crossed again. It was twelve years since we last saw each other. We started talking and after six months of reconnecting we woke one morning and said: “let's get married”. It certainly wasn’t your normal proposal or path forward. However, Suzie and Chris were never “by the book”. We got married and Suzie got sick. Chris was taking care of the family, finishing school, and working. It was a long road with many hurdles. Chris had no idea if his wife was going to live or die. Each night I prayed for one more day, one more week, one more year. Eventually, finding someone who would listen and who got Suzie back on her feet. Here we are ten years later. They just celebrated their ten-year anniversary on October 3, 2020. We are both healthy and stronger than ever before. We are starting new chapters, like taking photos of our lives together, photos that we missed in the beginning. As long as we are side by side, nothing can hold us back. We found love in each other ten years ago, and that continues as we approach our golden years. Chris still writes Suzie lunch notes, just to say I love you or hope you have a great day. It’s the small things for us now. A simple cup of coffee, walk, or a simple note in the morning to say “I Love You”. Today, we are living our lives with three crazy dogs (Jett, Kona, and Wynston), the boys are fine young men serving in the military and we are adjusting to empty nesters. That is our story and I hope our story will continue for many more.
