Still smiling from Jordan & Matt’s engagement session this past Sunday in our hometown of Jim Thorpe It was the perfect day — the sun was shining, love was in the air, and these two brought the best energy (and their favorite wine is).
We wandered through charming downtown Jim Thorpe then made our way to Mauch Chunk Lake for some cozy, golden hour moments.
How they Met & the Proposal
Matt and Jordan met while line dancing at C.J. Hummel's in Lenhartsville. Matt noticed that Jordan was wearing a shirt that said "Mopar" on it. He has always been a Mopar fan and was immediately interested but nervous to talk to her. With a little push from his friend, Matt made the first move. They danced, exchanged contact information, and the rest is history.
Matt and Jordan were planning a vacation to Utah. Jordan had dropped hints about wanting to be proposed to out West on vacation. Although she knew Matt would be proposing soon, she was surprised when he got down on one knee. It was a sunny Saturday in August on Jordan's parents' farm. Matt and Jordan enjoy the outdoors and working together on the property. Matt wanted to show his parents around the property and Jordan wasn't sure why. Well, that's when he decided to propose. He didn't want to risk taking the ring on a flight for fear of Jordan seeing it when going through security or it being lost. It was a smart decision and made for a meaningful engagement with family present.
Best part being engageed + some Advice
Our favorite part about being engaged is the anticipation. We have been together for nine years, so it has been a long time coming. Wedding planning has been so much fun for us! We can't wait to take this next big step together and make it official.
We would say not to rush planning. When deciding when to get married, be sure to give yourself enough time to plan so that you can enjoy the process and make it as stress free as possible. It will also help you to enjoy the process and allow you the extra time to research and book vendors who will really make your day unforgettable.
