From the Photographer

We first met Gina & Jon a couple of years ago during our famous Winter/Christmas Minis with Dogs at Radical Wine Company. Although it was a brief 15-minute session, we had a blast with their dog Bowser. Fast-forward to the present day, and they are planning out their wedding & saying their "I dos." We are honored & humbled to be able to celebrate with them next year!


We all decided that coming back to Sweet Arrow Lake was the best spot to celebrate their engagement. It was full of fun & laughter. Enjoy their story as told by them. 🥰🐶

How they Met & The Proposal

We met on Bumble. Our first date was at Heisler's and we played mini-golf, had some ice cream, and talked for a few hours.


Jonathan proposed to me on June 5, 2021, in a cabin we were renting in Lodi, NY. We were visiting Seneca Lake of the Finger Lakes for our anniversary weekend. I kind of expected it to happen during that weekend, but as that first morning of our trip went on I insisted it wasn't going to happen. We were getting ready to go hiking at Watkins Glen and I texted my best friend and was mopey and told her I felt a bit disappointed (I am dramatic). Then as I was going through MY backpack with all of Bowser's stuff AND I FOUND THE BOX! I immediately put my bag down and he said welp now that you saw it...then Jonathan said the nicest, sweetest, cutest things to me, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him in the kitchen of the cabin with the most beautiful ring I've ever seen. It was the most special moment of my life so far.

Best Part of the Engagement & some Advice

The excitement of wedding planning, making plans for our future, and knowing that we get to hang out every day for the rest of our lives. We would both say to do whatever makes the two of you happy. People aren't always going to love your ideas or appreciate the twists to tradition that you may want, but the day should be all about you! Also...check out Reddit for planning inspiration.
