From the Photographers

They call it the "city of brotherly love," and it did not disappoint. We ventured into Old City in Philadelphia a couple days ago to meet up with Jessa & Chris who are making it official at Magnolia Streamside Resort.

Their story is beautiful and started when they met. These two were so much fun to hang with, and we felt like long-time friends getting to explore their town together.

How they Met

I (Chris) was working in Philadelphia playing a show. Another dj on the show was a mutual friend of ours who Jessa had toured with in the past. We met as I came off stage and spent pretty much the whole night chatting before I had to go straight to the airport to fly out.

Proposal Story

So funnily enough a proposal never actually happened. I had been working and living on and off in the USA with Jessa as I was still touring heavily. When covid hit we got stuck apart for 9 months. In this time we made the decision to take a serious step into not allowing restrictions like covid to ever affect us again. So the proposal was just a mutual decision to get married (sorry for the boring story 😂)

Best part of being Engaged + Some Advice

Paperwork was the bane of our existence for nearly 3 years! Getting all of that done and finished and getting the visa approval was the biggest weight off our shoulders and set the wheels in motion for us to finally start our life together rather than 3000 miles apart.

Start planning as early as possible. If you don’t want to do something then don’t do it. Make your own traditions rather than thinking you have to adhere to the ‘classic’ ones. Remember that it’s your day and nobody else’s so don’t stress too much about making other people happy. Finally just have lots of fun and remember that one day doesn’t dictate the rest of your amazing life together :).
