We finally got to meet Brian & Lauren in person and kicked off their engagement session at Funk Brewing's West End Taproom in Allentown, PA! Over a couple of beers and a lively game of Jenga, it was clear how fun and laid-back these two are. After soaking up the good vibes inside, we headed next door to the tennis courts for some playful and romantic portraits. We’re so excited to share more from this awesome session soon!

How they Met + The Proposal

We met on Hinge. She was working down in Plymouth Meeting, and I was living up here, and we happened to have our distance range set out pretty far. Lucky for us!


Well, I (Brian) decided that the best place to get engaged would be at Lauren's college, Chestnut Hill College. So I enlisted the help of one of her best friends, who is a member on the board there, to give us a private tour. Then, under the guise of it being end of summer and wanting to enjoy one last weekend before Lauren returned to work at school, I said we should go down there and take some pictures. When she asked what to wear, I said "just don't dress like Adam Sandler" (Lauren likes to wear baggy basketball shorts). We got the tour, and had the rotunda all to ourselves thanks to Lauren's friend (he actually had to move the spring sport pictures to the gymnasium, so we will now be a part of Chestnut Hill history). Lauren likes to say she thought it was coming, but she was surprised! I didn't sleep much the night before due to nerves so it was a bit of a blur

Best Part of the Engagement + Some Advice

Our favorite part so far has been enjoying the moments, ups and downs, that come along with wedding planning. We timed it well enough that we had over a year and a half to start finding a venue and vendors, so we were able to tackle each one a little at a time and not feel rushed. Which, in turn, has allowed us to enjoy each part and think about each choice since we do not feel rushed. 


Don't forget, it is your day too! A lot of people will want to offer their opinions for different parts of the wedding, and some you have to listen to, but at the end of the day, it is about the two of you. Also, if possible, don't rush it. Enjoy the time and it will make it a lot easier when it comes to booking vendors and planning, as you won't feel as stressed.
