From the Photographers

We showed off our beautful town of Jim Thorpe to Ashley & Josh! They traveled all the way down here from Connecticut! It was so much fun taking them around & showing off all the best places to eat, drink & relax! We can't wait to share their story & celebrate their wedding next year up in New Englad!

Congrats again Ashley & Josh!

How they meet & Proposal

We met online and talked to each other for a few months before we had our first date on July 7, 2020. Covid made things a little tricky… but we just couldn’t stay 6 feet apart 😂. Our first date was at an ice cream farm. And now every year, on that day, we go to that same farm, get some ice cream, and take a Polaroid picture. It’s become a little tradition of ours and it’s fun to look back at the previous Polaroids as we add the new one in each year. Four years later, he finally asked (took him long enough) to marry me. Now we can’t wait for October 4, 2025 to say I do!!

Our proposal happened on April 8, 2024 during the solar eclipse. Our family met together that day to watch the solar eclipse at our house. Ashley had no idea that Josh was proposing to her that day. The only people who knew was Josh (obviously lol), Ashley’s dad, and sister. The only reason dad knew was because Josh had to ask for his blessing. Ashley’s sister helped orchestrate the proposal to make it extra special for both of us. She even told Ashley that it’s good luck to wear nice clothes during the solar eclipse, which Ashley totally believed! The entire time Ashley thought that we were having a solar eclipse party not knowing that it was going to turn into the sweet surprise of her best friend asking her to marry him. And having the love and support of our family all around us made our engagement even more special.

Best part of being Engaged + Some Advice

Our favorite part about being engaged is being able to create our wedding celebration together. Our wedding will be on Ashley’s brother’s farm. Which means that everything will be brought in by us and created in a way that describes both of our personalities perfectly. It is like we are given a blank canvas to create the wedding of our dreams. We are both creative people and planning our wedding together definitely is our favorite part. Also, we love seeing how excited our friends and family are for us to be getting married as well!

We love sales! And Facebook marketplace lol. So far, most of our decorations have come from either the clearance rack at a craft store or bought second hand. This will save you a ton of money. Plus it is fun to find a good deal and use your imagination to create something special. We have even found an old farm-style mailbox on the side of the road for free that we repainted and will use for cards that we get on our wedding day. A lot of our wedding is DIY, which really fits into our rustic barn style theme that our wedding will be. Plus we are excited for our friends and family to see what we have been creating, while staying within our budget.
